SONY Entertainment Television’s Topless Car Wash

7 March 2009, Singapore – More than 25 hunks got down and dirty at SPE Networks - Asia’s Sony Entertainment Television’s (SET) Topless Car Wash,cleaning cars in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation and International Women's Day. In a short span of two hours, they managed to pull in a whopping $9,305 in donations from more than 50 drivers and the general public who supported the cause.
In action were 15 Manhunt contestants, six from the Singapore Water Polo team, 5 DJs from Radio 913 led by Rod Monteiro who went topless for the good cause. Darren Lim, 30, spokesperson for the 15 hunks from Manhunt Singapore 2009 said, “This is the first time we are doing a car wash for charity and it was definitely one of the most meaningful yet fun activities for all the boys.”
“As a channel that reaches out to women, Sony Entertainment Television’s Topless Car Wash spreads the important message of early detection to all women in a wickedly juicy, fun and sexy way. And there is no better time to do this than in celebration of International Women’s Day,” said Mr Ricky Ow, General Manager, SPE Networks – Asia.
Allan Wu, host of AXN’s The Amazing Race Asia took off his shirt for the highest bid of $1,000! He said, “I am heartened by the amazing turnout and to see so many parties, with the lead of Sony Entertainment Television, come out in support of International Women’s Day and the Breast Cancer Foundation.”
Grace Ong, 48, Manager of Support & Volunteer Programmes for the Breast Cancer Foundation thanked Sony Entertainment Television for organizing the Topless Car Wash in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation. She said, “This event is great as it highlights the need for men to support and encourage their partners to go for screening and early detection.”
